Yuichi Onuma

Yuichi Onuma (小沼雄一) is a Japanese film and television director, screenwriter, and assistant director. Born on December 3, 1965, in Japan, he has built a diverse body of work across feature films and television dramas.

Directing Career

Onuma has directed numerous films and television series throughout his career. His feature film credits include Akiba (2006), Dotei Horoki (2009), Nude (2010), The Knot (2010), School Girl Complex (2013), Shin Usagi Yasei no Tohai (2013), Ku-jin (2016), and Saki (2017). In television, his directorial work encompasses series such as the 2016 television adaptation of Saki, Zetsumeshi Road (2020), and Keiji, Furidashi ni Modoru (2026).

Screenwriting and Other Roles

In addition to directing, Onuma has worked as a screenwriter on projects such as Akiba (2006), Peeping Tom (2008), Nude (2010), Shin Usagi Yasei no Tohai (2013), and Ku-jin (2016). His early industry experience also includes working as an assistant director on the 2008 film Body Jack.
