Yu Kashii

Yu Kashii (香椎 由宇, Kashii Yū) is a Japanese actress and model born on February 16, 1987, in Kanagawa, Japan. She spent part of her childhood in Singapore before returning to Japan, where she began her professional career in entertainment.

Career

Kashii started her career as a model in 2001. She quickly expanded into television commercials and drama series, gaining notable attention after appearing in the television drama Water Boys in 2003. This role paved the way for her feature film debut in 2005 in Lorelei: The Witch of the Pacific Ocean. Over the subsequent decades, she has maintained an active acting career spanning multiple film and television productions, including notable cinematic works such as Linda Linda Linda (2005) and the live-action adaptation of Death Note (2006).

Personal Life

On February 2, 2008, Kashii married Japanese actor Joe Odagiri. In June 2015, she withdrew from her role in the Nippon Television drama series Renai Jidai following the death of her one-year-old son due to intestinal obstruction.
