Plot

The narrative follows the early life of Kuro Hazama, a brilliant but unlicensed surgeon. As a child, Kuro and his mother, Mitsuko, are severely injured in a bombing incident at a shopping mall. Kuro is saved by the skilled surgeon Dr. Jotaro Honma, though his mother remains in a coma. Inspired by Dr. Honma's work, Kuro commits to a career in medicine with the hope of finding a way to wake his mother.

Fifteen years later, a 24-year-old Kuro is a medical student who continues to research treatments for his mother's condition. During his studies, he encounters Yuna Yasaka, the daughter of a university hospital director. As the story progresses, Kuro begins performing medical procedures on patients who have been rejected by the traditional hospital system, despite lacking a formal medical license.
