Watashitachi no Kyokasho

Watashitachi no Kyokasho (Japanese: わたしたちの教科書, English title: Our Textbook) is a Japanese television drama series that aired on Fuji TV from April 12 to June 28, 2007. The series consists of 12 episodes and was broadcast in the Thursday 22:00 time slot.

Plot

The series centers on the investigation surrounding the death of a student at a junior high school. Kohei Kaji, a young and idealistic teacher, finds himself caught in the middle of the crisis as the school environment proves to be far from the safe haven it is expected to be. He is joined by Tamako Tsumiki, a lawyer who possesses a mysterious connection to the deceased student. Together, they investigate the circumstances of the death, uncovering systemic issues and difficult truths within the school institution.

Production

The screenplay for the series was written by Yuji Sakamoto. The directing duties were shared by Shyunsaku Kawake, Hiroki Hayama, and Mizuki Nishizaka.
