Wakana Sakai

Wakana Sakai (born September 9, 1980) is a Japanese actress and media personality. Born in Nogi, Tochigi, Japan, she has maintained a prolific career in the Japanese entertainment industry, appearing in numerous television dramas and feature films since the early 2000s.

Career

Sakai gained early recognition for her roles in popular television series such as Ikebukuro West Gate Park (2000) and the Kisarazu Cat's Eye franchise, where she portrayed the character Moko. Throughout her career, she has demonstrated versatility by appearing in a wide range of genres, from contemporary dramas to period pieces.

Her filmography includes notable appearances in Otakus in Love (2004), Maiko Haaaan!!! (2007), and My Rainy Days (2009). In television, she has been a frequent presence in NHK productions, including the historical drama Strategist Kanbe (2014) and the morning drama Massan (2014–2015).
