The Truth Beneath (2016 Film)
The Truth Beneath (Korean: 비밀은 없다; RR: Bimileun Eobda) is a 2016 South Korean thriller film directed by Lee Kyoung-Mi. The film, which features a screenplay co-written by Lee Kyoung-Mi and Jung Seo-Kyoung, follows the story of a mother searching for her missing daughter amidst the backdrop of her husband's political campaign.

Plot
Kim Yeon-Hong (Son Ye-Jin) is married to Kim Jong-Chan (Kim Ju-Hyeok), a former news anchor who is running for a seat in the National Assembly. As Yeon-Hong prepares to support her husband's political campaign, their teenage daughter, Min-Jin (Shin Ji-Hoon), suddenly disappears. While Yeon-Hong becomes desperate to locate her daughter, she finds that her husband and his political associates are more focused on the election than the investigation. This leads Yeon-Hong to conduct her own search for the truth behind Min-Jin's disappearance.
Production
The film was produced by Kim Bo-Ram, Kim Yoon-Ho, and Lee Mi-Young, with cinematography by Joo Sung-Rim. Principal photography began on September 20, 2014, and concluded on January 11, 2015, in Yangsan, Gyeongsangnam Province, South Korea. The final scene filmed featured lead actors Son Ye-Jin and Kim Ju-Hyeok. During its development, the film was known by the working title Haengboki Gadeukhan Jib (Home Sweet Home).
