The Kidnapping Day (South Korean TV Series)
The Kidnapping Day (Korean: 유괴의 날; RR: Yoogweui Nal) is a South Korean television series that aired on ENA and Genie TV from September 13 to October 25, 2023. The crime drama consists of 12 episodes and was directed by Park Yoo-Young, with a screenplay by Kim Je-Young. The series is based on the novel of the same name by Jung Hae-Yeon, which was published by Sigongsa in 2019.
Plot Synopsis
The story follows Kim Myeong-Jun, a man struggling with poverty who is desperate to fund his daughter's medical treatment. His ex-wife convinces him to kidnap 11-year-old Choi Ro-Hee, the daughter of a wealthy family. During the attempt, Myeong-Jun accidentally hits Ro-Hee with his car, causing her to lose her memory. He takes her into his home, where she begins to believe he is her father. As Myeong-Jun attempts to return her, he discovers her parents have been murdered, and Ro-Hee eventually realizes that Myeong-Jun is not her biological father.

Due to the 19th Asian Games, the broadcast of the seventh episode was delayed by one day, airing on October 5, 2023, instead of the originally scheduled October 4 date.
