The File (2015 South Korean Film)

The File (Korean: 파일: 4022일의 사육) is a South Korean mystery-thriller film released on December 10, 2015. The film was directed by Park Yong-Jib and features a screenplay written by Park Ki-Hyung, Bae Young-Ran, and Park Yong-Jib.

Plot

The story follows Soo-Kyung, a local news reporter who begins searching for her long-missing best friend, Mi-Soo. After receiving information from an acquaintance named Min-Gook, Soo-Kyung eventually locates Mi-Soo after an 11-year disappearance. Upon reuniting, Soo-Kyung observes that Mi-Soo has undergone significant personality changes. Mi-Soo is currently in a relationship with Dong-Min, a researcher specializing in genetic engineering.

Production

The film was produced by Hong Yong-Soo and Jung Won-Ik, with cinematography by Kim Hak-Soo. Principal photography for the project took place between April 2, 2014, and May 2, 2014.
