The Deal (2015 South Korean Film)

The Deal (Korean: 살인의뢰; RR: Salinuiroe) is a 2015 South Korean crime thriller film directed by Son Yong-Ho. The film explores themes of vengeance and justice through the perspectives of two men whose lives are irrevocably altered by a serial killer.

Plot

The story follows Detective Tae-Soo (Kim Sang-Kyung), who loses his younger sister to a serial killer named Kang-Cheon (Park Sung-Woong). Simultaneously, an ordinary man named Seung-Hyun (Kim Sung-Kyun) suffers the loss of his wife, Soo-Kyung (Yoon Seung-Ah), at the hands of the same perpetrator. Driven by grief and a desire for retribution, both men embark on a quest to confront Kang-Cheon.

Production

Principal photography for The Deal commenced on May 15, 2014. The opening scene, featuring detectives Tae-Soo and Ki-Seok (Jo Jae-Yun) departing a police station in Guri, South Korea, marked the beginning of production. Filming concluded on September 18, 2014, with the final sequence shot at an abandoned factory in Paju, South Korea.
