The Chase (2017 South Korean Film)

The Chase (Korean: 반드시 잡는다; RR: Bandeusi Jabneunda) is a 2017 South Korean thriller film directed by Kim Hong-sun. The film follows an unlikely partnership between a grumpy landlord and a retired detective as they attempt to track down a serial killer terrorizing their neighborhood.

Plot

The story centers on Sim Duk-soo (Baek Yoon-sik), a landlord who knows every detail of his neighborhood. Decades earlier, a series of murders occurred in the area, a case that the now-retired detective Park Pyung-dal (Sung Dong-il) failed to solve. When a new string of mysterious deaths begins to plague the same neighborhood, the former detective seeks out the landlord's local expertise to help him finally apprehend the killer.
