The Call (2020 South Korean Film)
The Call (Korean: 콜) is a 2020 South Korean mystery-thriller film directed by Lee Chung-Hyeon. The film explores the psychological tension between two women living in the same house but separated by two decades, who find their lives connected through a single telephone.

Plot
The story follows Kim Seo-Yeon (Park Shin-Hye), who resides in the present day, and Oh Young-Sook (Jun Jong-Seo), who lives in the same house in the past. After discovering an old telephone, the two women establish a connection across time, leading to unforeseen and dangerous consequences for both.
Production
The film is based on the 2011 British-Puerto Rican film The Caller. Principal photography for The Call commenced on January 3, 2019, and concluded on April 2, 2019. The production was directed by Lee Chung-Hyeon, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Kang Sun-Joo.


Release
Originally intended for a theatrical release in South Korea, the film's debut was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It was ultimately released worldwide on Netflix on November 27, 2020.

Reception
At the 57th Baeksang Arts Awards in 2021, Jun Jong-Seo received the award for Best Actress for her performance in the film.
