The film is based on the novel Toki ni wa Zange wo written by Bunzo Uchiumi, which was published in September 1994 by Kadokawa Shoten. The screenplay was written by Tetsuya Nakashima and Nobuhiro Kadoma. The production is scheduled for release in Japan on August 28, 2026, with distribution handled by Sony Pictures.
Plot Synopsis
The story follows a private detective named Yonemoto, who is brutally stabbed to death. Following his murder, Yonemoto's ex-colleague Satake and Satake's assistant Satoko begin an investigation into the killing. During their inquiry, they uncover a connection to a newborn baby kidnapping case that occurred nine years prior.
