Tenshoku no Maousama
Tenshoku no Maousama (Japanese: 転職の魔王様), known in English as The Expert of Changing Jobs, is a Japanese television drama series that aired on Fuji TV from July 17 to September 25, 2023. The series consists of 11 episodes and was broadcast in the Monday 22:00 time slot.
Plot
The story follows Chiharu Hitsujitani, played by Fuka Koshiba, who leaves a high-pressure position at a major advertising agency after three years of workplace harassment. She begins working at a temp agency managed by her aunt. There, she encounters Arashi Kurusu, portrayed by Ryo Narita, a highly skilled but blunt career advisor. Despite his physical disability, which requires him to walk with a cane, Kurusu is renowned for his ability to guide clients through career transitions, often using harsh, direct remarks to challenge their perspectives. As Chiharu works alongside Kurusu, she undergoes significant personal growth while assisting various individuals seeking to change their professional paths.
Production
The drama is based on the novel Tenshoku no Maousama by Mio Nukaga, which was published by PHP Kenkyusho on February 6, 2021. The television adaptation was directed by Takahiro Horie, Syunpei Maruya, and Shoichi Hosaka, with screenplays written by Yoko Izumisawa and Hiroyuki Komine.
