Sorry Apple (2008 Film)
Sorry Apple (Korean: 사과; RR: Sa-kwa) is a 2008 South Korean romantic drama film written and directed by Kang Yi-Kwan. The film examines the complexities of long-term relationships, heartbreak, and the societal pressures surrounding marriage.

Plot
The story follows Hyeon-Jeong (Moon So-Ri), who experiences a sudden end to her seven-year relationship with her boyfriend, Min-Seok (Lee Sun-Kyun). Following the breakup, Hyeon-Jeong feels intense pressure to find a new partner and marry quickly. She eventually meets Sang-Hoon (Kim Tae-Woo), a man with a shy and awkward demeanor. While she begins to develop feelings for him and decides to marry him, the situation becomes complicated when Min-Seok attempts to reconcile their past relationship.
Production and Release
The film's title, Sa-kwa, carries a double meaning in Korean, referring to both "apology" and "apple." Although production was completed earlier, the film faced a significant delay in its theatrical release. While it was originally scheduled to open in South Korean theaters in the spring of 2005, it remained unreleased for three years.
Reception
Despite its delayed domestic release, Sorry Apple gained recognition on the international film festival circuit. It received the FIPRESCI Award at the 2005 Toronto International Film Festival and the Best New Screenplay award at the 2005 San Sebastian International Film Festival.
