Solitary Gourmet Season 8, known in Japanese as Kodoku no Gurume Season 8, is an installment of the popular Japanese television drama series broadcast on TV Tokyo. The program follows the narrative of character Goro Inogashira as he travels and dines alone at various dining establishments.

The eighth season ran for 12 episodes from October 4 to December 20, 2019, airing in the Friday 24:12–24:52 time slot on TV Tokyo. It took over the broadcasting schedule previously held by the series I Turn and was subsequently followed by Kotaki Brothers and Shikuhakku in January 2020. Direction for the season was handled by Takeshi Igawa, with scripts written by Yoshihiro Taguchi and Yoriko Kodama.

Source Material

The television series is based on the manga series Kodoku no Gourmet, created by Masayuki Qusumi and illustrated by Jiro Taniguchi. The original manga was first published between 1994 and 1996 in Monthly PANJA magazine.
