Shimobee (Japanese TV Drama)
Shimobee is a Japanese television drama series that aired on NHK from January 7 to February 25, 2022. The series consists of eight episodes and was broadcast in the Friday 22:00 time slot. It is based on the manga series of the same name by Hiroyuki Murata, which was serialized in Weekly Young Magazine starting in 2019.
Plot
The story follows Yurina Kamoshida, a 17-year-old high school student living with her mother, Yasuko. After downloading a mysterious mobile application called "Shimobe no Shimobee," she discovers that a middle-aged man named Shimobee appears whenever she encounters trouble. He provides assistance and then departs without speaking. Through his intervention, Yurina is inspired to revisit her childhood dream of becoming a doctor, despite her current academic struggles.
