Shichinin no Onna Bengoshi (2006)

Shichinin no Onna Bengoshi (Japanese: 7人の女弁護士) is a Japanese television drama series that aired on TV Asahi from April 13 to June 8, 2006. The series consists of nine episodes and focuses on a law firm composed of seven female attorneys who specialize in representing women facing legal challenges, including cases of sexual harassment, domestic issues, and various criminal matters.

Plot

The story centers on the professional and personal dynamics of a law firm dedicated to assisting women in vulnerable situations. The narrative introduces Maki Todo, played by Yumiko Shaku, a spirited and energetic newcomer to the firm. Under the leadership of Misako Sugimura, portrayed by Yoko Nogiwa, the firm takes on complex cases. A significant plot point involves Sugimura assigning a high-stakes case to the inexperienced Todo, a decision that creates tension and apprehension among her more seasoned colleagues.

Production

The drama was directed by Renpei Tsukamoto, Hisashi Ueda, and Kazuhisa Imai, with scripts written by Shukei Nagasaka, Shizuka Ouki, and Masaya Ozaki. It aired in the 21:00–21:54 time slot on TV Asahi.

Sequel

A second season, titled Shichinin no Onna Bengoshi 2, was produced and broadcast by TV Asahi in 2008.
