Sexy Tanaka-san (Japanese Television Drama)

Sexy Tanaka-san is a Japanese television drama series that aired on NTV from October 22 to December 24, 2023. The series consists of 10 episodes and was broadcast in the Sunday 22:30 time slot. It is based on the manga series Sexy Tanaka San, written and illustrated by Hinako Ashihara, which was first published in the magazine Anekei Petit Comic on August 5, 2017.

Plot Synopsis

The story follows Kyoko Tanaka, a 40-year-old office worker in an accounting department. While she is known for her professional competence and modest demeanor, she leads a secret life as an exotic belly dancer known as Sali. Her double life is discovered by Akari Kurahashi, a younger temporary worker at the same company, who becomes intrigued by the transformation she observes in her colleague.

Cast

The series features an ensemble cast led by Haruka Kinami in the dual role of Kyoko Tanaka and her stage persona, Sali. Meru Nukumi portrays Akari Kurahashi. Other notable cast members include Katsuya Maiguma as Kosuke Shono, Goki Maeda as Kazuki Konishi, and Kazuma Kawamura as Shingo Nakahara.

Production and Broadcast

The drama was directed by Ryuichi Inomata and Akinori Ito, with the screenplay adapted by Tomoko Aizawa. The series followed Code Japan: The Price of Wishes in the NTV Sunday night lineup and was succeeded by Alice in Wonderful Kitchen in January 2024.
