Seichi X (2021 Film)

Seichi X (Japanese: 聖地X) is a 2021 Japanese film directed by Yu Irie. The film is based on the theater play of the same name, which was written and directed by Tomohiro Maekawa and first performed in 2015. The production was distributed by Gaga Corporation and released in Japan on November 19, 2021.

Plot

The story follows Kaname, who, seeking to escape her troubled marriage, travels from Japan to South Korea to visit her brother, Teruo. Upon her arrival, Teruo provides her with shelter at his villa. The siblings eventually find themselves drawn into a mysterious location known as the Cursed Sanctuary X.

Production

The film was shot on location in South Korea, with principal photography lasting for one month. The screenplay was adapted from Tomohiro Maekawa's 2015 stage production.
