Ryo Ryusei: Japanese Actor Biography and Career

Ryo Ryusei (竜星 涼) is a Japanese actor born on March 24, 1993, in Tokyo, Japan. Standing 183 cm tall with blood type A, he has built a prolific acting career across television dramas, films, and tokusatsu series since his debut in the early 2010s.

Early Career and Breakthrough

Ryo Ryusei entered the Japanese entertainment industry under Ken-On agency. He made his acting debut in the 2010 television drama Sunao ni Narenakute. Throughout the early 2010s, he appeared in supporting roles in various television series such as Hammer Session! and Himitsu, as well as high school dramas including Ouran High School Host Club.

A major milestone in his early career came when he was cast as Daigo Kiryu (Kyoryu Red) in the 2013 Super Sentai series Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger. This leading tokusatsu role significantly raised his profile among audiences in Japan and tokusatsu fans internationally.

Film and Television Career

Following his tokusatsu breakthrough, Ryusei transitioned into a wide variety of roles in both film and television. In television, his credits include historical and contemporary NHK asadora projects such as Hiyokko (2017) and Chimudondon (2022). He also gained widespread recognition for his role as Kotaro Shinjo in the TBS Sunday Theater drama series Vivant (2023).

His film career features prominent appearances in adaptations and original features alike. Notable film projects include Orange (2015), The 100th Love with You (2017), Grand Blue (2020), Last Mile (2024), and Kowloon Generic Romance (2025).
