Rupan no Musume (2019 TV Series)
Rupan no Musume, internationally known as Daughter of Lupin, is a Japanese television drama series that aired on Fuji TV in 2019. The series is based on the 2015 novel of the same name written by Dai Yokozeki and published by Kodansha.
Plot
The story follows Hana Mikumo, a woman born into a family of notorious thieves. Despite her lineage, Hana aspires to live a conventional life and works as a librarian. She enters a relationship with Kazuma Sakuraba, a man from a family of dedicated police officers. The central conflict arises as the couple attempts to navigate their relationship while concealing their families' opposing backgrounds, eventually leading to complex situations where their worlds collide.
Production
The series was broadcast on Fuji TV's Thursday 22:00 time slot, premiering on July 11, 2019, and concluding on September 26, 2019. It was directed by Hideki Takeuchi, Shunsuke Shinada, and Koji Hora, with a screenplay by Yuichi Tokunaga. The series' theme song, "Mosu," was performed by the Japanese rock band Sakanaction.
