Revenge Girl (2017 Film)

Revenge Girl (Japanese: リベンジgirl) is a 2017 Japanese romantic comedy film directed by Koichiro Miki. The film, which blends elements of political drama with the romantic comedy genre, was released in Japan on December 23, 2017.

Plot

The story follows Miki Takaraishi, a 24-year-old woman characterized by her intelligence and beauty, though she is often perceived as having a difficult personality. After being dumped by her boyfriend, Yuga Saito—a man from a prominent political family—Miki decides to seek revenge. Her chosen path is to enter the political arena and run for the office of Prime Minister. To facilitate her campaign, she enlists the help of Toshiya Kadowaki, a campaign strategist.

Production

The film is based on the novel Revenge Girl, written by Erika Yoshida and Tomohide Kiyoshi, which was published by Kadokawa in the autumn of 2017. Principal photography for the production began on September 20, 2017.
