Rebound (Japanese: リバウンド, Hepburn: Ribaundo) is a Japanese television drama series that aired on NTV from April 27 to June 29, 2011. The series consists of 10 episodes and was broadcast on Wednesday nights.
Plot
The story follows Nobuko Oba, played by Saki Aibu, who grew up in a family that owned a restaurant specializing in tonkatsu (breaded, deep-fried pork cutlet). Her love for food, particularly tonkatsu and cakes, led to her weighing 82 kilograms in her early 20s. Following personal difficulties, she decides to lose weight and succeeds in shedding 37 kilograms. This transformation helps her secure a job as an editor for a fashion magazine and attracts romantic interest. However, her life becomes complicated after she interviews a handsome pastry chef named Taiichi Imai, portrayed by Mokomichi Hayami, and finds herself falling in love with both him and his cakes.
