Pure Love (2013 South Korean TV Series)

Pure Love (Korean: 일말의 순정; RR: Ilmalui Soonjung) is a South Korean television series that aired on KBS2 from February 18 to August 14, 2013. The series was broadcast in the Monday to Friday 19:45 time slot.

Plot

The story centers on Kim Sun-Mi (played by Jeon Mi-Sun), a 40-year-old single high school teacher who aspires to find true love. Her personal life is complicated by her relationship with her friend, Ha Jung-Woo (Lee Hoon), who remains single as well. Sun-Mi harbors feelings for Jung-Woo, but she is unable to express them due to a past rejection; twenty years prior, Jung-Woo had confessed his love to her, but she turned him down.

Upon transferring to a new high school, Sun-Mi encounters her first love, Jung Woo-Sung (Kim Tae-Hoon), who now teaches mathematics at the same institution. Woo-Sung is a widower living with his daughter, having lost his wife 16 years earlier.

Production

Pure Love was directed by Kwon Jae-Young, with a screenplay written by Choi Soo-Young and Kim Hyo-Shin. The series consisted of 125 episodes. It occupied the KBS2 time slot previously held by the drama Family and was succeeded by Ruby Ring on August 19, 2013.
