Papa to Oyaji no Uchi Gohan (Japanese: パパと親父のウチご飯) is a Japanese television drama series broadcast on TV Asahi. The series ran for 10 episodes from October 4 to December 6, 2025, airing in the Saturday 23:00 time slot.
Background and Production
The television series is based on the manga series of the same name by Yuu Toyota, which was serialized in the magazine Comic Bunch from April 21, 2014, to July 21, 2020. The drama was directed by Takuma Sato and Naomi Kinoshita, with scripts written by Ureha Shimada and Tatsuya Yamanishi.
In TV Asahi's programming schedule, the series took over the Saturday 23:00 time slot previously occupied by Love & Revenge: Spy Game and was followed by Zenbu, Anata no Tame Dakara on January 10, 2026.
Plot Synopsis
Tetsu Sengoku, run by an osteopathic clinic operator, unexpectedly becomes a single father when his ex-girlfriend leaves her daughter, Airi, in his care. Meanwhile, Masahiro Harumi works as a manga editor and raises his son, Seiichiro, alone following a divorce caused by his wife's affair. Due to a past trauma, Masahiro is unable to use a knife.
After meeting at their children's kindergarten, the two single fathers decide to live together to support each other through their unfamiliar domestic challenges. Alongside their children, they navigate everyday life and personal growth.
