Nippon Noir: Detective Y's Rebellion (Japanese: ニッポンノワール ―刑事Yの反乱―) is a Japanese television drama series that aired on NTV from October 13 to December 15, 2019. The series consists of 10 episodes and was broadcast in the Sunday 22:30 time slot.

Plot

The story follows Detective Kiyoharu Yusa, played by Kento Kaku, who awakens in a forest with no memory of the preceding several months. He soon discovers that he is the primary suspect in the murder of a fellow female detective. As he attempts to piece together his fragmented memory, he finds himself pursued by his own colleagues. Yusa eventually suspects that his situation is linked to an unsolved one-billion-yen robbery case.

The series was directed by Ryuichi Inomata, Naoko Komuro, Ryo Nishimura, and Kentaro Nishioka, with a screenplay written by Shogo Muto. It occupied the NTV Sunday 22:30 time slot, following the conclusion of Your Turn to Kill and preceding Panda Judges the World.

Reception

The series recorded an average viewership rating of 6.9% in the Kanto region according to data from Video Research, Ltd.
