New Trial (2017 Film)
New Trial (Korean: 재심; RR: Jaesim) is a 2017 South Korean legal drama film directed and written by Kim Tae-Yoon. The film is based on the real-life Iksan taxi driver murder case, which occurred on August 10, 2000, involving the wrongful conviction of a teenager.

Plot
The story follows Jo Hyun-Woo (Kang Ha-Neul), a young man who serves ten years in prison after being coerced into a false confession for the murder of a taxi driver. Lee Joon-Young (Jung Woo) is a lawyer struggling with financial debt who discovers the case. Initially motivated by the potential to advance his career, Joon-Young becomes genuinely invested in seeking justice for Hyun-Woo after learning the details of the investigation.


Production
The film was produced by Yoon Soo-Jin, Park Sung-Il, and Yoon Ki-Ho, with cinematography by Kim Il-Yeon. Principal photography commenced on July 17, 2016, and concluded on October 3, 2016.
