Mystery Minzoku Gakusha Yakumo Itsuki (Japanese: ミステリー民俗学者八雲樹) is a Japanese television drama series that aired on TV Asahi from October 15 to December 17, 2004. The series consists of 10 episodes and was broadcast in the Friday 23:15–24:10 time slot.
Premise
The story follows Itsuki Yakumo, an assistant at the Folklore Research Institute. As he conducts his academic research, he frequently encounters mysterious cases. Utilizing his professional expertise in folklore, he works to solve these enigmas, which are often deeply connected to local customs and traditional beliefs.
Production
The series is based on the manga of the same name written by Yozaburo Kanari and illustrated by Joji Yamaguchi. The television adaptation was directed by Manabu Aso and Hisashi Kimura, with scripts written by Masashi Todayama.
