Mr. Yano's Ordinary Days (Japanese: 矢野くんの普通の日々, Hepburn: Yano-kun no Futsu no Hibi) is a 2024 Japanese feature film directed by Takehiko Shinjo. The film is a live-action adaptation based on the webcomic series of the same name by Yui Tamura, which began serialization on the Comic Days platform on June 27, 2021.

Plot

The story follows Seiko Yoshida (Anji Ikehata), a diligent high school class representative who becomes concerned about her classmate, Tsuyoshi Yano (Yusei Yagi). Yano frequently arrives at school with various injuries, providing inconsistent explanations for his condition. Alongside her friends, Yoshida investigates the cause of his frequent accidents and discovers that Yano possesses an exceptionally unlucky constitution, which prevents him from experiencing a typical school life. Driven by empathy, Yoshida commits to supporting Yano. As they spend more time together, their relationship deepens, though they face challenges in growing closer. The situation is further complicated by the arrival of Yudai Hashiba (Kaito Nakamura), a popular student who expresses romantic interest in Yoshida, while Yano finds himself developing feelings for Yoshida in response to her kindness.

Production

The film was directed by Takehiko Shinjo, with a screenplay written by Noriaki Sugihara, Kei Watanabe, and Hajime Ibuki. It was distributed by Shochiku and released in Japan on November 15, 2024. The production features a runtime of 106 minutes.
