Mio Tanaka (Japanese: 田中美央) is a Japanese actor born on July 4, 1974. Standing at 183 cm, he has established a prolific career spanning both feature films and television series.

Career and Filmography

Tanaka has appeared in numerous high-profile Japanese films and television dramas. His cinematic credits include roles such as Tatsuo Hotta in the Academy Award-winning film Godzilla Minus One (2023), Kazufusa Tawaraya in Hell Dogs (2022), Takaaki Koike in Killing For The Prosecution (2018), and Saizo Kani in Sekigahara (2017). He also appeared in The Emperor in August (2015), Fueled: The Man They Called Pirate (2016), Taiga e no Michi (2022), and is slated to appear as Homare Takemoto in Demon City (2025).

In addition to his film work, Tanaka has a strong presence in Japanese television dramas (dorama), with appearances in historical Taiga dramas and modern series. His television credits include Seiten wo Tsuke (NHK, 2021), The First Penguin (NTV, 2022), Believe: A Bridge to You (TV Asahi, 2024), and Netflix's Straight to Hell (2026).
