Mawang
Mawang (Korean: 마왕), also known by its English title The Lucifer, is a South Korean television drama series that aired on KBS2 from March 21 to May 24, 2007. The series was directed by Park Chan-hong and written by Kim Ji-woo, a creative duo known for their collaborative work in the thriller and mystery genres.

Plot
The narrative centers on a complex confrontation between two men linked by a tragic incident from their youth. The story incorporates elements of mystery and psychological drama, featuring a female character who possesses psychometric abilities. The series explores themes of morality, justice, and the nature of fate through a series of interconnected events that unfold years after a murder case was initially closed.
The plot is set in motion when detective Kang Oh-soo (played by Uhm Tae-woong) receives a tarot card representing "judgment" alongside a mysterious letter. This triggers a series of events that force the characters to confront the consequences of a past tragedy that has remained unresolved for twelve years.

Production and Legacy
Mawang aired on Wednesday and Thursday nights at 21:55 on KBS2. It followed the conclusion of Dalja's Spring and preceded Several Questions That Make Us Happy. The series was later adapted into a Japanese television drama titled Maou, which aired on TBS in 2008.
