Like Flowers in Sand

Like Flowers in Sand (Korean: 모래에도 꽃이 핀다) is a South Korean television series that aired on the ENA network from December 20, 2023, to January 31, 2024. The drama focuses on the traditional Korean wrestling sport of ssireum and is set in the fictional location of Geosan County.

Plot

The story follows Kim Baek-Du, a member of the Geosan County Office ssireum team. Once celebrated as a wrestling prodigy, Baek-Du struggles with his career and contemplates retirement. His life takes a turn when he reunites with his childhood friend, Oh Yu-Gyeong, who returns to Geosan to manage the struggling ssireum team. The narrative explores their shared history and the challenges faced by the team as they attempt to avoid disbandment.

Production and Broadcast

Directed by Kim Jin-Woo and written by Won Yoo-Jung, the series consists of 12 episodes. It was broadcast on Wednesdays and Thursdays at 21:00. The series replaced Moon In The Day in the ENA time slot.
