Production and Background

The film is an adaptation of the manga series Kokosei Kazoku, written and illustrated by Ryo Nakama. The original manga was serialized in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine from September 7, 2020, to February 20, 2023. The screenplay for the cinematic adaptation was written by Makoto Ueda, with Toichiro Ruto serving as director.

Plot Synopsis

The story follows Kotaro Ietani, who eagerly anticipates beginning his high school journey. On the morning of his entrance ceremony, he learns the unexpected news that his entire family—including his father Ichiro, mother Shizuka, younger sister Haruka, and even their pet cat—are enrolling in the exact same high school and becoming his classmates.
