Kimi ga Kemono ni Naru Mae ni

Kimi ga Kemono ni Naru Mae ni (Japanese: 君が獣になる前に), internationally known as From the Dust, is a Japanese television drama series that aired on TV Tokyo in 2024. The series is based on the manga of the same name by Takashi Sano, which was serialized in Weekly Young Magazine from January 2022 to May 2023.

Plot Synopsis

The story follows a catastrophic poison gas terror attack at a Tokyo terminal station, resulting in 666 casualties. The incident is dubbed "The Beast," and the perpetrator is identified as Kotone Kido, a 25-year-old actress who died at the scene. Hajime Kanzaki, a 33-year-old undertaker and childhood friend of Kido, becomes determined to uncover the truth behind her actions. During his investigation, Kanzaki is killed, only to find himself transported back in time, providing him an opportunity to prevent the tragedy.

Production

The drama was directed by Mari Asato, Kyoya Kakuda, and Taku Matsumoto. The screenplay was written by Mari Asato, Masashi Shimizu, and Keita Toyama. The series premiered on April 5, 2024, and concluded on June 21, 2024, consisting of 12 episodes. It occupied the Friday 24:12 time slot on TV Tokyo.
