Hyena is a South Korean legal drama series that aired on SBS from February 21 to April 11, 2020. Directed by Jang Tae-yoo and written by Kim Ru-ri, the series follows the professional and personal lives of two lawyers who cater to the top 1% of society.

Plot

The narrative centers on Jung Geum-ja and Yoon Hee-jae. Jung Geum-ja is a tenacious lawyer driven primarily by financial gain, known for using unconventional and aggressive tactics to win her cases. In contrast, Yoon Hee-jae is an elite, highly skilled lawyer who prides himself on his intelligence and professional confidence. The series explores their rivalry and complex relationship as they navigate high-stakes legal battles.

Production

The series occupied the Friday and Saturday 22:00 time slot on SBS, following Hot Stove League and preceding The King: Eternal Monarch. The lead female role was initially offered to actress Song Hye-kyo, who declined the part. Following its domestic broadcast, the series was made available for international streaming on Netflix.
