Hospital Ship (South Korean TV Series)
Hospital Ship (Korean: 병원선; RR: Byungwonsun) is a South Korean medical drama series that aired on MBC from August 30 to November 2, 2017. The series consists of 40 episodes and was broadcast on Wednesday and Thursday nights.

Plot
The series follows a group of young doctors who provide medical services to residents of remote islands via a hospital ship. The narrative centers on Song Eun-jae (Ha Ji-won), a highly skilled surgeon from a major hospital in Seoul. After a personal tragedy involving her mother, she joins the medical team on the hospital ship. She works alongside Kwak Hyun (Kang Min-hyuk), a physician who chooses to serve on the ship as a public health doctor to distance himself from the legacy of his father, a renowned doctor.
Production
The series was directed by Park Jae-bum and Kim Sang-woo, with a screenplay written by Yoon Sun-joo. Filming took place primarily on Geoje Island, South Korea. The first script reading was held on July 6, 2017, at the MBC Broadcasting Station in Sangam. This project marked the first time actress Ha Ji-won portrayed a doctor in her career. Actor Choi Jin-hyuk was initially offered the lead male role but declined.


Broadcast History
Hospital Ship occupied the Wednesday and Thursday 22:00 time slot on MBC. It replaced the series Man Who Dies to Live and was followed by I'm Not a Robot on December 6, 2017.
