Hayako Sensei, Kekkon Surutte Honto Desu Ka? (English title: The Single Teacher Miss Hayako) is a Japanese television drama series that aired on Fuji TV from April 21 to June 16, 2016. The series consists of nine episodes and was broadcast in the network's Thursday 22:00 time slot.

Background and Production

The drama is based on the essay manga of the same name by Hayako Tatsuki, which was published by East Press on October 17, 2014. The narrative is rooted in the author's real-life experiences. The production was directed by Isamu Nakae, Genta Sato, and Daisuke Yamauchi, with a screenplay written by Fumie Mizuhashi.

Plot

The story follows Hayako Tatsuki, a 34-year-old elementary school teacher portrayed by Nao Matsushita. While she enjoys her career and maintains a positive relationship with her family, she begins to reflect on her single status after discovering a photograph of a potential blind date. A personal health crisis involving her father further prompts her to reconsider her perspective on marriage and companionship.
