Haken no Oscar: Shoujo Manga ni Ai wo Komete (派遣のオスカル ~少女漫画に愛をこめて~) is a Japanese television drama series that aired on NHK in 2009. The series, which consists of six episodes, explores the life of a temporary office worker who finds inspiration in the classic manga The Rose of Versailles.

Plot

The story follows Katsuko Misawa, a temporary staff worker navigating the challenges of her professional life. Feeling disillusioned by her mundane daily routine, she finds solace in the world of the iconic manga The Rose of Versailles. When the company president's son, Akeo Igarashi, introduces a series of aggressive cost-cutting policies that threaten her colleagues, Katsuko begins to hear the voice of Oscar François de Jarjayes, the legendary protagonist of the manga. Empowered by this internal connection, Katsuko decides to challenge the new management policies to protect her coworkers.

Production and Broadcast

The series was directed by Tomochika Kasaura, Kunio Yoshikawa, and Yoshiharu Sasaki, with a screenplay written by Arisa Kaneko. It was broadcast on NHK from August 28 to October 2, 2009, in the Friday 22:00 time slot. The series achieved an average viewership rating of 5.3% in the Kanto region.
