Greenhouse (2023 Film)

Greenhouse (Korean: 비닐하우스; RR: Vinylhouse) is a 2023 South Korean drama film written and directed by Lee Sol-Hui. The film explores themes of social isolation and the desperate measures taken by individuals living on the margins of society.

Plot

The story follows Mun-Jung, played by Kim Seo-Hyung, a woman struggling to rebuild her life while her young son is held in a youth detention center. Living in a greenhouse, she works as a caregiver for an elderly woman named Hwa-Ok, who suffers from Alzheimer's disease. Mun-Jung's primary motivation is to secure a stable home for her son upon his release. Her life takes a dark turn following a fatal accident involving Hwa-Ok during a bath. Before she can report the incident, a phone call forces her into a series of difficult decisions.
