Golden Time is a South Korean medical drama series that aired on the MBC network from July 9 to September 25, 2012. The series, which consists of 23 episodes, was broadcast on Mondays and Tuesdays at 21:55. The narrative is set within the high-pressure environment of a hospital emergency room.

Production

The production of Golden Time was directed by Kwon Seok-Jang and Lee Yoon-Jung, with a screenplay written by Choi Hee-Ra. Filming for the series took place primarily in the port city of Busan, South Korea. The production process began with the first script reading on May 14, 2012, at the Ilsan MBC Dream Center. Principal photography commenced on May 26, 2012, with the first scene involving a car crash featuring lead actors Lee Sun-Kyun and Hwang Jung-Eum; this sequence required three days and two nights to complete.

The series experienced a scheduling adjustment during its run; the tenth episode, originally slated for August 7, 2012, was delayed until August 13, 2012, due to broadcast coverage of the London Olympics.

Plot

The story centers on the medical staff working in an emergency room. A central character is Kang Jae-In, played by Hwang Jung-Eum, who is the heiress to the Ikhyo Foundation, an organization that manages a medical university and five hospitals. Initially, Jae-In is unaware of her inheritance and is primarily focused on her personal relationship with her ex-boyfriend.
