Gold Mask (Korean: 황금 가면; RR: Hwanggeum Gamyeon) is a South Korean television drama series that aired on KBS2 from May 23 to October 7, 2022. The series consists of 100 episodes and was broadcast in the Monday to Friday 19:50 time slot. Directed by Eo Soo-Sun and written by Kim Min-Joo, the drama explores themes of greed, desire, and the personal tragedies that arise from these motivations.

Plot Synopsis

The narrative centers on the lives of three women whose paths intersect through a series of tragic events fueled by ambition and social standing. Yoo Soo-Yeon, played by Cha Ye-Ryun, comes from an ordinary background and marries into a wealthy chaebol family. Despite the initial appearance of a fairy-tale life, she faces significant hardship due to the mistreatment she endures from her in-laws. The story also features Cha Hwa-Young (Na Young-Hee), a woman driven by the desire to maintain her elite social status, and Go Mi-Sook (Lee Whee-Hyang), a successful restaurant franchise owner and private moneylender who is portrayed as a character of integrity.

Production and Broadcast

Gold Mask occupied the KBS2 Monday-Friday 19:50 time slot, succeeding the series Love Twist. Following its conclusion on October 7, 2022, the time slot was taken over by Vengeance of the Bride on October 10, 2022.
