Ghost Mama Sousasen

Ghost Mama Sousasen ~Boku To Mama No Fushigina 100 Nichi~ (Ghost Mama Investigation: The Mysterious 100 Days of Me and My Mom) is a Japanese television drama series that aired on NTV in 2012. The series, which blends elements of comedy, fantasy, and mystery, is based on the manga Ghost Mama Sousasen by Tomokazu Sato, which was first published by Shogakukan Big Comics in 2002.

Plot

The story follows Tonbo Uehara, a timid first-grade student. His life changes when he discovers that by wearing his late mother's glasses, he can see the ghost of his mother, Choko Uehara. Choko, who was a police officer before her death, continues to be a meddlesome spirit who cannot resist helping others. Together, the mother-son duo works to solve various cases, while Choko watches over her son's development during the final 100 days before she must move on.

Production

The series was broadcast on NTV from July 7 to September 15, 2012, in the Saturday 21:00 time slot. The production featured a large ensemble cast and was directed by a team including Toya Sato, Taro Otani, Maki Nishino, and Masahiro Mori. The role of Tonbo Uehara was played by child actor Yuma Kimino, who was cast following an audition process that included 100 other candidates.
