The film is adapted from Keigo Higashino's novel Satsujin no Mon, which was originally published on August 25, 2003, by Kadokawa. Ko Kanai serves as the director of the film adaptation. Distribution responsibilities are handled by Toho and Kadokawa Pictures.

Plot Synopsis

The narrative centers on Tajima (played by Kouhei Matsushita) and Kuramochi (played by Kento Yamazaki), who have maintained a childhood friendship. While Kuramochi is depicted as a charismatic and helpful figure who frequently aids Tajima during difficult times, underlying tensions emerge. As Tajima's life takes negative turns, Kuramochi's presence becomes ambiguous, leading Tajima to question whether his lifelong companion is a friend or a foe. Attempts by Tajima to distance himself repeatedly fail, causing growing suspicion and tension.
