Forget Me Not (2015 Film)

Forget Me Not (Japanese: Wasurenai to Chikatta Boku ga Ita) is a 2015 Japanese romantic fantasy film directed by Kei Horie. The film is based on the 2006 novel of the same name written by Mizuho Hirayama and published by Shinchosha Publishing Co., Ltd.

Plot

The story follows Takashi Hayama, a high school student who falls in love with a girl named Azusa Oribe. Their relationship faces a supernatural challenge when Azusa reveals that anyone who meets her eventually forgets her existence within a few hours. Initially skeptical, Takashi eventually experiences this phenomenon himself. Determined to maintain their connection, he begins keeping written records and notes to remind himself of his relationship with Azusa.

Production and Release

The film was directed by Kei Horie, who also co-wrote the screenplay alongside Satoko Okazaki. It features Nijiro Murakami as Takashi Hayama and Akari Hayami as Azusa Oribe. The film was distributed by Nikkatsu and released in Japan on March 28, 2015. It has a runtime of 94 minutes.

Film Festivals

Forget Me Not was screened at several international film festivals, including the 17th Udine Far East Film Festival in April 2015, where it held its international premiere. It later had its U.S. premiere at the 9th JAPAN CUTS festival in July 2015.
