Florence wa Nemuru (2016 Film)

Florence wa Nemuru (Japanese: フローレンスは眠る), released internationally as Where Florence Sleeps, is a 2016 Japanese suspense film. The production was directed by brothers Katsuto Kobayashi and Kenji Kobayashi, who also co-wrote the screenplay.

Plot

The narrative follows the kidnapping of Hideki Sato, the successor CEO of a mid-sized chemical company. The perpetrator, Tsuyoshi Makiba, who serves as the secretary to the company's CEO, Zenichiro Sato, demands a rare diamond known as "Florence no Namida" as ransom. The demand is rejected by both Zenichiro and the company's Vice President, Yujiro Sato.

As the situation unfolds, Zenichiro falls ill, prompting Yujiro to initiate a power struggle to seize control of the company. It is revealed that Makiba's motivation for the kidnapping is rooted in personal vengeance, as his mother's death was linked to the "Florence no Namida" diamond.
