First Doctor

First Doctor is a South Korean medical drama series scheduled for release in 2027 on Netflix. The series is directed by Hong Jong-Chan and written by Kim Min-Seok.

Plot

The story centers on Heo Ji-Wan, a highly skilled pediatric surgeon known for her unwavering sense of duty and blunt, straightforward personality. Her uncompromising nature often leads to conflicts with colleagues, earning her a reputation as a troublemaker within the hospital. Following a specific incident, she is forced to return to Yeonhwa University Hospital. Upon her arrival, she faces the challenge of preventing the closure of the pediatric surgery department while advocating for her young patients. Throughout the series, she navigates complex professional relationships with staff members, including the third-year resident Ki Eun-Kyeol, Head of Surgery Son Sang-Baek, and Vice Director Lee Chang-Gon. She also reconnects with Bae Su-Wol, a charismatic anesthesiology professor with whom she shares a long-standing history.
