Plot

The story follows Hana Sudo (Mitsuki Tanimura), a high school student who returns home after six months of treatment for leukemia. Upon her return, she finds that her older brother, Taro (Kengo Kora), has become a hikikomori, a social recluse who refuses to leave his room. Despite his previous closeness to his sister, Taro has withdrawn from society, and their parents struggle to address his condition.

Hana, inspired by the local Katakai Fireworks Festival, attempts to help her brother reintegrate into society. She encourages him to join the local youth group responsible for organizing the festival. Although he initially faces rejection, Hana persists in helping him find employment and participate in community activities. As Taro begins to open up, Hana faces a relapse in her health, leading to a poignant conclusion centered on the significance of the fireworks festival to the siblings.
