Escape from Mogadishu (Korean: 모가디슈) is a 2021 South Korean action-drama film directed by Ryoo Seung-wan. The film depicts the harrowing experiences of South and North Korean diplomats trapped in Mogadishu, Somalia, during the outbreak of the Somali Civil War in 1991. The narrative focuses on the unlikely cooperation between the two rival delegations as they attempt to escape the escalating violence.

Background
The film is based on a real-life incident that occurred in January 1991. As the Somali Civil War intensified, the South Korean embassy in Mogadishu came under attack. Diplomats from both the South and North Korean embassies were forced to set aside their political animosities to secure a safe passage out of the country.
