Dying Eye (Japanese TV Series)

Dying Eye is a Japanese television drama series that aired on the WOWOW network in 2019. The series is based on the 2007 novel of the same name by acclaimed author Keigo Higashino. It consists of six episodes and was broadcast on Saturdays from March 16 to April 20, 2019.

Plot

The story follows Shinsuke Amemura, a bartender who finds his life upended after being attacked by a stranger. The assault results in partial memory loss, leaving him unable to recall his involvement in a fatal car accident that occurred a year and a half prior. He eventually discovers that his attacker, Reiji Kishinaka, was the husband of Minae, the woman killed in that accident. Following the attack on Shinsuke, Reiji dies by suicide. Shortly thereafter, a mysterious woman named Ruriko, who bears a striking resemblance to the deceased Minae, begins to appear before Shinsuke.

Production

The drama was directed by Masahiro Kunimoto with a screenplay by Noriko Yoshida. It was produced for the WOWOW network, airing in the Saturday 22:00 time slot. The series followed Sore wo Ai to Machigaeru kara and was succeeded by The House on the Slope.
