D.P. is a South Korean television series released on Netflix in 2021. The drama centers on the activities of the Deserter Pursuit (D.P.) unit, a specialized military team responsible for tracking and apprehending soldiers who have gone absent without leave. The series is based on the webcomic D.P.: Gaeui Nal, written by Kim Bo-Tong and serialized on Lezhin starting in 2015.
Production and Development
The series was directed by Han Jun-hee, who also co-wrote the screenplay alongside the original webcomic author, Kim Bo-Tong. The first season consists of six episodes and premiered on August 27, 2021. The narrative explores the psychological and systemic pressures within the South Korean military environment.

Plot Synopsis
The story follows Private An Jun-ho, played by Jung Hae-in, a quiet and observant soldier who is recruited into the D.P. unit by Sergeant Park Beom-gu, portrayed by Kim Sung-kyun. Within the unit, An works alongside Corporal Han Ho-yeol, played by Koo Kyo-hwan. The team's primary objective is to locate deserters, a task that forces them to confront the complex reasons behind why soldiers abandon their posts. The series also features First Lieutenant Lim Ji-seob, played by Son Suk-ku, whose primary focus is his own military career advancement.
